NEWS from Lisa: Awesome August with Spring in the Air

What a great month it’s been with three exhibitions, some good weather and Spring finally here.

Scott Opening the Open Studio Trail Bakehouse event

Exhibitions past present and future…

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in or visited our exhibition: Cooks River Clay Connections for the Edge Creative Trail - Midjuburi Precinct or at Connie Dimas Artisans Collective. Thanks also to the Inner West Council for supporting this exhibition and creating another great local event and to Mobius Distiling Co for sponsoring our opening night.

As part of this community event, it was also great to see Scott give birth to the Bakehouse Shed delivering much promise now its doors are finally open to the public, and with so much positive interest and encouragement received from hundreds of visitors. So if you have a wood project or an idea for a Summer class, then please get in touch.

I won’t pretend It’s easy opening your doors to the public (especially when they’re attached to the body of your home), but the success of the event and the fun we had over the course of the last few weeks made it more than worthwhile.

Another good reason for celebration last month was the anniversary of Connie Dimas Artisans Collective. With 5 years in her current Dulwich Hill shop and 10 since starting her own retail jewellery business in neighbouring Dulwich Hill, she has certainly proven her retail resilience. Since my first Clovelly Pop-Up with her in 2019, Connie has integrated many of the Bakehouse artists into her Artisans Collective. We are both looking forward to many more of these creative collaborations in the year ahead.
