NEWS from Lisa: DEAR December
Looking forward to seeing Lorris back at the Bakehouse studio.
Dear December, what a year it’s been! And its not over yet!
Life at the Bakehouse Studio will continue to surprise, with many special events both big and small right up to Christmas this year, as we anticipate our annual studio show, followed by the last workshop of the year and then a visit from Canadian potter Lorris Williams. Lorris and his wife Quinn were regular members of the Bakehouse Studio from 2015-2018 sharing their many ceramic skills with our Bakehouse community. We are so excited to have them come back to show their 8 year old son Walter, where he was born while staying in the Bakehouse Studio loft.
But first, a reflection on some November highlights.
It was a delight to spend another weekend at Winmark Wines, Gallery & Sculpture Park for my third totem workshop on this beautiful site. Yet again I was so impressed by everyone’s results no doubt influenced by such an inspiring place. Many thanks to Cally who assisted me with this larger than usual group. We all had so much fun!
Christmas Market at
Wentworth Falls.
Back in the studio, work was fired, and assembled before collection. If you’d like to enjoy one of these special weekend workshops you can find out more about the February Totem workshop at Winmark here.
I also joined the Blue Mountains Clay Collective in November for their inaugural Christmas Market. It was great to meet so many locals and receive so much interest in another Springwood workshop at S.Mountain Ceramics in March.
Studio Transformation
Our annual Christmas Studio Show is on THIS weekend - December 6 and 7 with exhibitors:
Jo Boag, Sara Buchner, Cally Bruer, Vicki Klay, Monika Lencse, Cardi McAuslan, Cath Miers, Jim O’Brien, Sally Steele, Deb Wilkes
Featured below are just some of the many unique ceramic works that will be on show and for sale over the weekend. I hope you can make it along for this celebratory end of year event.

Looking for a shared woodwork shed in Sydney?
You’ve found it!
The Bakehouse Shed in Marrickville is a space for people with a woodwork project but no space. Or machines, or tools.
It's even for people with no skills and only a vague idea about what end of a hammer to hold.
Perhaps you want to fix something.
Or restore something.
Or make something from scratch.
This is a relaxed, inclusive community space where you can work on your own project with the good humoured guidance of Scott - and YouTube.
Drop in for a visit and a chat.
