NEWS from Lisa: October OCCASIONS

A jump-start into a Spring full of ceramics started in September with the sale of ‘Seedy-Singles’ at Sculptures on the Farm in Dungog, followed by a Bird Workshop and High Tea / Artist’s Talk at Winmark Wines. With beautiful weather, great participants and wonderful wines, it was a great way to begin the season.

In the Studio

I’m excited to have two outdoor and one indoor sculptures this year at Sculptures in the Garden, Mudgee, opening on October 11and continuing till Sunday October 26. If you’re looking for a lovely weekend away and a drive in the country, please come and see this wonderful exhibition at Rosby Wines just outside Mudgee. I’ve also had an absolute ball finishing new work for the Sydney Ceramics Market to be held at Carriageworks on the weekend of October 18-19. Below are two of the works I’ll be showing at this event: Memphis on My Mind and Shady Lady. I hope you can come and visit me on Stand #1 for this amazing annual event.

Exhibitions: Sydney Contemporary

Its always a treat to attend Sydney Contemporary at Carriageworks in September, to check out so many galleries and artists under one roof. This year ceramic artists were well represented with some of my favourite works shown below.

The ceramic landscape workshop offered an in-depth exploration of how glaze affects both texture and color, giving participants a hands-on understanding of its transformative power. With expert guidance, the class also focused on slab building design, helping attendees master the art of blending form and color to create stunning, abstract and realistic landscapes.

Looking for a shared woodwork shed in Sydney?
You’ve found it!

The Bakehouse Shed in Marrickville is a space for people with a woodwork project but no space. Or machines, or tools.

It's even for people with no skills and only a vague idea about what end of a hammer to hold.

Perhaps you want to fix something.

Or restore something.

Or make something from scratch.

This is a relaxed, inclusive community space where you can work on your own project with the good humoured guidance of Scott - and YouTube.

Drop in for a visit and a chat.

For more information or to book a time to come and talk about your project, contact Scott on 0415 816 627 or
